Additional information: Affiliate Programs and Shopping Carts

In my initial post, I inadvertently left out some of the better affiliate programs out there. Here I am posting them with a brief description.

www.marketingtips.com
This program has a very good payout and actually a very good conversion rate as well.

www.amazon.com
There are a number of ways to promote Amazon.com. You can place widgets on your site with music, books, your wishlist, related items, a search box, or you can even place an online store on your site that includes items that you handpick for sell in it. The commission from amazon.com is between 4%-8% depending on your monthly sales. There are sites that will build you an amazon store that will mostly be for amazon products and for what affiliate links you put on the page. You can actually purchase a site like that from me for only $19, given that you own a domain name and linux web hosting with cgi, perl, and mysql. Check www.ebiz-u.com for a comparable site and see the price difference.

www.cj.com
This is Commission Junction. They actually have thousands of advertisers there waiting for publishers to come along and pick up their products. However, it is a lot of the advertisers that have strict rules to becoming an advertiser for them. They look at how much you generate monthly. As a rule of thumb, if you are designing your site after guitars for instance and you have a lot of information about this guitar and that guitar, you should have no problem actually selling a guitar or two for one of their advertisers of your site just by placing a link on there.

www.google.com/adsense
This is what you will find a lot of hype about. People claim that they earn thousands of dollars per month from adsense. I am not calling them a liar, but I can't see it. I am going to tell you why. I have over 50 websites, some with over 3000 hits per day, and I am not doing that with google adsense. I suppose that if you were spending 1000's per month in adwords to advertise then I suppose you could possibly make that driving traffic to your site only to find a page full of advertisements. It is plausible.

www.regnow.com
This site contains software. Software that sells and you can actually do pretty good with them as well.

These are the larger affiliate programs. Most companies that you would actually want to work for are signed up under commission junction and very few allow independent resellers, though you can become a reseller for ZT Systems computers.

That is going to close us for this time. Until next time, take care.
